Writing Warhammer 40K Short Stories, Gambit14, Homebrew 40k Fluff, 20, 07-28-11 08:52 PM. I would not recommend this Ominbus as an introduction to the Universe of 40k however, unless the idea of the Inquisition is especially appealing to the reader. If EBooks are your bag, then you'll be happy to know that the following two Eisenhorn short stories, 'MISSING IN ACTION' and 'BACKCLOTH FOR A CROWN. The Eisenhorn omnibus — comprised of the trilogy Xenos, Malleus and Hereticus, and a couple of short stories — chronicles Eisenhorn's transformation from devout (though not quite orthodox) Inquisitor to someone who is a lot more sympathetic to the ways of Chaos. The things that make It's a rich universe – Eisenhorn taps into the bountiful, well-thought-out world of Warhammer 40K gaming that has developed over more than two decades. I've recently started reading some books dealing with the lore of Warhammer 40k and am a little overwhelmed when shopping on Amazon. David and I have both had a hankering for Warhammer 40K inspired fiction of late. Those bastards are just north of phone book sized. Know, this has already been covered here. The Eisenhorn Omnibus was one of my favorite 40k reads. I personally don't care for digital stuff at all . Dan Abnett is one of my favorite authors now. Havent read any of Gaunt's, hope its not as bad as I hear. And yeah, these have already been released, I think in the Eisenhorn Omnibus. Set within the timeline of Dan Abnett's mostly excellent Eisenhorn omnibus, which is one of the classics of Black Library fiction and a very good introductory set of novels to get your feet with the Warhammer 40,000 setting. In my case, I'd love to reread Dan Abnett's amazing work for that brand, including Eisenhorn, Ravenor, and the Gaunt's Ghosts novels–but I own them in omnibus print editions.
